2026 maps version maps expected release

It’s that time of year when anglers are looking forward to getting out on the open-water. We know that many people are excited for the release of our 2026 version maps compatible with Lowrance sonars, but they are not quite ready yet.  Currently, we are hoping to release 2026 version maps sometime between late-May and mid-June. The last few steps of the map production process are complicated, and we do not like to rush anything.

2026 coverage summary

Our 2026 coverage summary will be posted on our website just prior to the official release of our 2026 chips. We are not going to post it in advance because of the potential to cause confusion with coverage contained on our 2025 version chips.

MSRP price increases

Also, please note that MSRP on our Complete Catalog and several of our regional chips will be increasing in price for 2026. This is because there is so much new content being added (based on 1000s of km of on-the-water survey). Details on MSRP price increases are still being finalized but could be in the range of $50-100.

Should I order a 2025 chip, or wait for 2026?

For customers looking to purchase AEM chips and use them to start catching more fish, the imminent release of a new version always raises the question about buying now, versus waiting for the next version.

A couple things to think about, and a DISCOUNTED UPGRADE OFFER.

  1. If the lakes that you fish are already mapped by AEM, then perhaps there is little reason to wait for 2026 version chips. Purchase a 2025 version chip, and you can start using it immediately. You may also save yourself a few bucks (because MSRP will increase on some 2026 chips).
  2. If you have been following us on social media, you probably have a strong understanding of what new maps are going to be released on the 2026 versions of our chips. If you want maps of certain lakes that are likely soon to be released, but also want to get a 2025 version chip to tide you over until 2026 version chips are released, we have an offer that will make it very easy for you.

DISCOUNTED UPGRADE OFFER

Purchase a 2025 version AEM chip between May 1 and July 1, 2026 and you will be entitled to upgrade your recently purchased chip to the 2026 version of the same chip when it is released for a reduced cost. Please note that the upgrade offer applies only to chips covering the same geographic region.

The cost to upgrade from a 2025 chip (purchased between May 1 and July 1, 2026 only) will be the difference between MSRP of the 2025 and 2026 version chips, plus taxes and shipping (if applicable).

For example, if you purchase a Saskatchewan 2025 version chip (MSRP = $199) and want to upgrade to a Saskatchewan 2026 version chip (MSRP = $249), then your upgrade cost will be $50 + tax + shipping (if applicable).

For those wishing to take advantage of the discounted 2025 to 2026 purchase offer, we will require a receipt to verify the purchase date. If you purchase the 2025 chip from a retailer, make sure you retain your receipt as proof of purchase. Photos of the physical chip or bank statements are not valid substitutes for a line-item receipt from a retailer.

The DISCOUNTED UPGRADE OFFER expires on August 1, 2026.

Please see our website for additional details on how our upgrade program works. https://anglersedgemapping.com/store/upgrades-digital-maps

If you choose the  “mailed upgrade” option we will need to verify your 2025 chip has been destroyed (snapped in half) via photos submitted by email.  If you choose to upgrade via Anchor Marine, please bring your 2025 chip (plus proof of purchase from retailer, or the AEM website).
